Watercolors provide me with a path towards calm and allow me the ability let go of thought, of physical pain and of impossibilities. As I watch the colors find one another they begin to dance through the water and suddenly take on a life of their own. Its intriguing, soothing and oh so gratifying in my soul. After they dry (if I can wait that long), I begin taking extremely close up pictures of all the areas on the paintings, these are the results.
*For reference; I’ve included an example of a whole image at a distance, the other six are close ups (all of different paintings)

A little bit about my work

My process is definitely about my ability to be mindful, to release whatever I’m holding onto. I have no goal when painting with my watercolors other than to fall in love with the process. After I paint something I begin taking extremely close up photos at different angles to capture how each color collides with the other colors to became something magical.
