Signs From Those We Miss

Today marks the 1 yr anniversary of Shanon’s passing. She is missed, thought of daily, talked about regularly, remembered fondly, honored, cherished, and loved. This day and every day. I spoke with her family today, and they spent part of the day in meditation at the Buddhist Temple where she practiced her faith. They walked in the woods surrounding the Temple. Just being together.

As they traveled today, they saw a big sign of love that she was with them. Shanon has a Lotus tattoo, was born in 1973, and, of course, her website is called The Rooted Lotus. In true Shanon fashion, she came through loud and clear, just so no one would second-guess the sign.

She was a believer in signs. Her father and our grandmother gave her signs regularly, especially near the end of her time here with us. Little hugs and kisses from beyond.

Signs are everywhere. It doesn’t make the grief any easier, the longing any quieter, but it does give a little comfort when it is needed the most. Being still and quiet in her person was a practice and lifestyle for Shanon. She taught us to just sit, be still, and take it all in. Observe and feel small joys that bubble to the surface even in times of despair and discomfort. These are the beautiful pieces of her I carry in my soul every day.

I see you, my love! Thank you
